Large contractors are often registered in USAspending.gov's SAM.gov-linked recipient data under multiple legal-entity names and Unique Entity Identifiers (UEIs), one company can appear here as several separate rows (for example, a parent corporation and its individually-registered business segments). We show each registered entity as USAspending reports it rather than guessing which registrations belong to the same ultimate parent, so when sorting by Total Awards, a single well-known company's combined federal spending may be split across more than one row here.
